WPPTC’s Dance Physical Therapist Visits Buenos Aires

posted on: Jun 2nd, 2019 category:dance, rehabilitation, community, news

This April, I was in one of my favorite cities, Buenos Aires, Argentina, to participate in the Mega Zouk Congress. Buenos Aires has one of the largest and most active communities of the dance Zouk Lambada in the world. There I taught this dance, as well as ballet and injury prevention for lambada. I was also a judge for the amateur and professional competition and the Jack and Jill competition. Where needed, I jumped in to provide pro-bono physical therapy for the performers before performing.

I also enjoyed the sites of this beautiful city, like the “Puente de la Mujer” or the Women’s Bridge and watching Milongas in the park. It’s really such a beautiful city; I highly recommend visiting it. You might think traveling south means warmer weather, however, Buenos Aires, being the southern-most major city in the world, has the opposite seasons and is now entering winter. It was actually much like Portland weather!

I am so grateful to have had another opportunity at an international dance event to share my passion for dance and dance rehab.
